What you will need

• Floating frames
• Artificial leaves
• Scissors
• Spray paint

Steps

Pick your favorite variety of artificial leaves that are readily available at any art and craft store. Trim the stems and remove the plastic backing so that you are only left with the “papery thin” leaves. This is critical for the leaves to remain intact within the frames, otherwise the thicker parts would interfere with the frames staying together.

Select the leaves you want to paint. You can use your favorite metallic spray paint to cover the leaves. Let the paint dry and coat another layer to be sure all the area is covered.

Place your leaves between the two glass pieces of a floating frame and fix edges. If you do not have a floating frame, you can also remove the backing of one frame and use the glass from a second frame to create your very own floating frame.
